Quality assurance

The National Fostering Agency believes in the value of having an effective quality management system and is continually updating its methods, policies and procedures.

Our Quality Assurance (QA) team ensures the Agency maintains a fostering service to children, foster carers and local authorities that is of the highest possible standard and continuously improving in line with developing research, legislation and practice.

It is the role of the QA team to promote continuous improvement in all aspects of the services provided by The National Fostering Agency. We achieve this by setting high performance standards and regularly reviewing and updating our policy and procedures.

The QA team provides information, advice and support to staff at all levels across the National Fostering Agency thus ensuring we comply with current legislation, both internal and external minimum standards and best practice.

Inspections

Inspections are crucial to ensure we work to the best fostering standards. The QA team co-ordinates all inspections, liaising with Ofsted (England), CSSIW (Wales), Care Commission (Scotland).

Complaints

We take complaints very seriously, and have procedures and policies in place to deal appropriately with complaints. Upon receiving a complaint, the QA team will advise NFA staff and monitor outcomes. Where appropriate, the team responds to formal complaints and undertakes full investigations.
